International functional safety standard for complex E/E automotive systems

Functional Safety (ISO26262)

Functional Safety (ISO26262) is derived from IEC 61508 and provides functional safety standards for the lifecycle of all programmable E/E automotive systems. Simply ISO26262 defines the requirements of the safety critical automotive systems and it is relevant not only for the safety relevant functions of the system but also processes, methods and tools.  ISO26262 provides a safety lifecycle.

Our Expertise on Safety

  • HARA: Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment
  • Specification of the safety goals
  • ASIL classification
  • Analysis and specification of the system requirements
  • Safety plan
  • Modelling of the system architecture
  • Functional analysis according to the safety goals
  • FMEA: Failure Mode and Risk Assessment
  • FTA: Fault Tree Analysis
  • ASIL Decomposition
  • Training: Introduction to Functional Safety
  • Development and implementation of the functional safety mechanisms
  • Functional safety concept
  • Safety case
  • ….and more!

ISO26262 consists of twelve parts. Those parts are as follows:

Part 1: Vocabulary

Part 2: Management of Functional Safety

Part 3: Concept Phase

Part 4: Product Development at the System Level

Part 5: Product Development at the Hardware Level

Part 6: Product Development at the Software Level

Part 7: Production, Operation, Service and Decommissioning

Part 8: Supporting Processes

Part 9: Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL)-Oriented and Safety-Oriented Analyses

Part 10: Guidelines on ISO26262

Part 11: Guidelines on Application of ISO 26262 to Semiconductors

Part 12: Adaptation of ISO 26262 for Motorcycles (ISO26262’nin Motorsikletlere Uyarlanması)
